Savage Grace

By Natalie Robins and Steven M.L. Aronson. "As sheer high drama Savage Grace out-ghouls all contenders in this year's kill-and-tell sweepstakes," reads one blurb; another is from Norman Mailer. This won an Edgar for its account of the murder of Barbara Baekeland (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Daly_Baekeland) by her son, and was turned into a film starring Julianne Moore. This paperback is visibly "loved hard": advanced edgewear and creasing to covers; cracked spine repaired with duct tape; toned pages with foxing/a stain to the edges. A good price to read and recycle, though.

Fair Game

By Bernard DuClos. "To big game hunter Robert Hansen, Alaska was paradise. But for his victims, it was a terrifying wilderness where no one could hear their screams." DuClos's iteration of the "Butcher Baker" case. Visibly pre-owned PB - cracked spine with a lean to it; edgewear; some faded edge tint and waviness that suggest a visit to the pool; toned pages. But it's unmarked inside, will get the job done as a reading copy.
